Spelling Moore empowers individuals with autism and other communication challenges by promoting purposeful spelling as a means of communication, presuming competence, and fostering inclusive opportunities for learning and connection. We provide educational resources, training for families, practitioners, and communities, and scholarships so that every person, regardless of speech ability, can be heard, valued, and supported in reaching their full potential.

How We Use Donations
Spelling Moore, Inc., is committed to promoting inclusive communication and presuming competence in every individual. While one-on-one spelling-to-communicate sessions remain central to our mission, current demand far exceeds available practitioner time. To use donated funds most effectively, we propose an “Access Through Education” model that allows each gift to impact many families at once.
Donations will directly fund free community workshops that introduce the fundamentals of spelling to communicate to families, educators, and practitioners. These events will include demonstration lessons, guided practice, and take-home resources that empower participants to continue supporting nonspeaking communicators beyond the workshop itself.
By funding a single event, donors multiply their impact—creating a ripple effect of inclusion, understanding, and practical skill that reaches far beyond what could be achieved through a limited number of individual scholarships. This approach allows us to sustain high-quality programming, reach underserved families, and fulfill Spelling Moore’s mission to make communication access possible for all.
